This is the second time that we have stayed at the Hotel Minasterio Benadictino and I'm delighted to say that I had forgotten what a superb hotel this is. Our last visit to Calatayud and this particular hotel was a very quick visit on route back to Santander for the ferry, this time though we a little more organised and this enabled us to spend a bit more time taking in the hotel and the city. The hotel is in a great location in the city and has underground parking, big plus for anyone travelling by car/motorcycle using Calatayud as a good stop off to/from the ferry ports in the North. The hotel and rooms are all very clean and in a high standard, the beds were unbelievably comfy and make it a struggle to get up of a morning. I really cant believe the value for money that this hotel provides, we paid 60 euros for a stay on a Thursday night in June and to me this is absolutely fantastic value for money for the quality of the hotel. To add to this, the (very traditional) restaurant is fantastic as well and with menu of the day at between 14-15 euros per person, it again is amazing value for money for the quality. All together we paid around 100 euros for dinner, bed and breakfast for two people...i wish I had left a tip! A little on Calatayud, nice little town/city, there are some nice squares and historic building off the main street that runs through the centre which give an opportunity to see some of the architecture. There is a lovely park with a lake, in the middle of that lake is a little kiosk/bar that serves snacks and massive cocktails. Nice spot to have a drink for sure. Finally, there is a nice walk along the river that runs through the city/town centre. You'd be hard pushed to find many tourists there but for me that is a good thing and I've grown really fond of this lovely but small town/city and the fantastic Hotel Monasterio Benadictino.

A lovely old building in the centre of the town with old world charm - just like a parador. Great location close to the bars and restaurants. Superb front desk service - the lady spoke excellent English and check in was fast and painless. She showed me where the bike storage facility was, made a dinner reservation for me and was professional, efficient and very friendly. Dinner was a three course gourmet delight with a bottle of wine in an impressive dining hall for 13 euros! Exceptional value. My room was clean, comfy and spacious. Excellent Wi-Fi.

It's just a great place to stay. The situation is perfect as it is easy to find with good secure parking for motorcycles and easy car parking. Every member of staff were very pleasant and helpful including the restaurant. The restaurant serves excellent food and is well priced. The building itself is a very attractive construction and well looked after. I had a single room which was very well layed out and was very comfortable and so was the bed. Finally the area is clean, tidy and has numerous bars and eateries very close.

First class hotel. Modern and stylish , incorporating features from the old monastery. Very comfortable. Super clean. Excellent and friendly staff. Very good restaurant ( opens in the evening at 8.30). The evening menú was great value. The hotel is situated in the centre of town with a free public car park outside. (We were lucky and found a space). I will be happy to recommend this hotel to my friends.

William

The hotel appears to be a half converted monastery with new sections and some very old parts, tastefully done. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Calatayud is a small quiet town and worth a visit, based in this hotel. Parking is in an underground car park on the other side of the road, at extra cost.
